I had been looking forward to shooting this wedding ever since the groom asked me to take photos of their surprise engagement session last year!
Being a part of this wedding day was a lot of fun! We started off at the Home Inn and Suites in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with the girls. The room was perfect for everyone to get ready and it was just a relaxed and fun morning all around! I think the flower girls were most excited to get their dresses on!
They picked a beautiful spot at the Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park for their ceremony. I loved the little personal touches they added to their day and that all their friends and family were in attendance! Each bridesmaid brought a personal polaroid photo from the bride and gave it to the groom as they walked down the aisle. It was definitely a personal touch that made the ceremony even more special.
We definitely lucked out with the weather for our photos after the ceremony. We had to work fast to get some shots by the river before the storm hit. As we drove back into Swift Current for the reception we ran into a wall of flash flooding rain! I have never seen rain like that before in my life and it definitely put an end to our outdoor photos but made the day memorable for sure!
The reception and dance took place at the iPlex and we got fed a great supper while we dried off from our ten seconds of being out in the torrential downpour. The speeches were very heartfelt and the first dance was perfect! I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into their day!
